14th June 2018
Windsurfing: Point Clear
Wind Direction: SW
Wind Stength: 18-25kts
Surf / Sea State: flat
Air Temperature: ok
Sea Temperature: ok
Weather: sunny cloudy
Max Speed: 25.46 (knots - unless stated otherwise)
Distance Covered: 11.2nm (Nautical Miles - unless stated otherwise)

Arrived at Point Clear to hear a few kiters discussing conditions, same as us windsurfers what to fly! Took a reading on the wall and gusts were 30kts with norm about 25kts. Morning was cloudy and cool and the wind was howling high up, tide not yet in, so took my time. Thought 6.4 was OK until others much smaller were rigging 6 or more. Switched to 7.0 but instead of using the 135 went for the 125 which was a mistake. Several sailors now out including the Felixstowe crew of 7 bods. Some were flying others mediocre. Got to the pond in one beat but yet again well under powered. Loads of kites and surfers out now, some on the outside. In the gusts planed ok but only for short distances. Was well underpowered and should have gone back in and swop boards and sail. Just couldn't be bothered, so let the sail out and downhaul so much the top cam flipped off on a fall. Sat on banks and waited for gusts but when the others went outside I should have done the same. The wind kept dropping so called it a day but not even enough for me to get back to carpark as couldn't waterstart so body dragged in. Chat with the others, coffee and sandwich with a visit to the spa soon fired me up again for next session. Low speed and low mileage but great fitness work out again, in and out of harness and arms still fine for Fridays gym session.
